Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe Program

Just got a great tip from Juicyfairy.com about Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program. Apparently Nike actually takes any brand of old athletic shoes and recycles them into:

"material used in sports surfaces like basketball courts, tennis courts, athletic fields, running tracks and playgrounds for young people around the world"
This "material" is called Nike Grind and I just can't tell you how great I think this is. I had heard of something like this a long time ago but never knew the specifics. Now I do.

The guidelines are as follows:

• Athletic shoes only (any brand)
• No shoes containing metal
• No cleats or dress shoes
• No wet or damp shoes

You can either send them in to:

Wilsonville, OR 97070
