Recycling plastic cards

For Valentine's Day, I decided to go through some old vacation memorabilia for some inspiration and I found a bunch of casino cards from our trip to Vegas. Below is what I decided to do with them:

Of course, keeping and displaying plastic cards isn't always the answer. I know we all have tons of these things, whether they're gift cards, old credit cards, old library cards, membership cards, and the list goes on. Well, as we've seen, you can craft with them. Even if you don't want to keep them in the original form, they can be cut up and used for mosaics.

For those of us, not so inclined, the problem is that most cards are made out of PVC plastic and with the magnetic strip, they are difficult to recycle. However, Earth Works
has developed the first fully-recycled and fully-recyclable PVC sheet material for the printed product market by safely transforming existing PVC into reusable sheet stock.

This is applicable for
gift cards, promotional cards, ID cards, signs, point of purchase displays, membership cards, hotel cardkeys, bookmarks, rulers, hang tags, drivers licenses, circle alculators, playing cards, luggage tags, and specialty advertising.

You can contact them here to find out how to donate your plastic cards, or go to their website here for more info.
